Love Those Quacks? Don't Give Snacks
What is as lovely as ducks on the pond,
Swimming so graceful and slow?
We feel we should share with them, give them some bread,
But there is one thing we should know:
Bread is not good for them; those lovely ducks
Are not built for our bakery goods.
Instead they should gobble some snails or small fish
Or algae or grass from the woods.
Bread in their bellies can do them much harm,
And block the good things that they eat,
Or even cause sickness, so let’s just admire
Those ducks as we bring our own treat.
